White Supremacy and the Enslavement of the African Mind

“Going Back to Tradition is The 1st Step Forward”

White supremacy and domination is the greatest threat to the survival of African people in the 21st Century. The Psychological impact of White supremacy runs rampant throughout the Americas and compromises the Mental, Physical, Spiritual, and Social wellbeing of people of African descent throughout Diaspora. The European world-view has been at war with the African world-view for 5 over thousand years and has expressed itself under the cultural influence of the Hyksos, Assyrians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, British, Dutch, Portuguese, French, and Italians. The European world view and its subsequent system of colonization is responsible for the genocide, and enslavement of millions of Indigenous people from Tasmania to Africa.  The insidious system of colonization and chattel slavery during the 17thcentury created an oppressive system of domination and control that is self-sustaining; and continues to enslave the mind of the Black people in modern times. The psychological and physical trauma (rapes, castrations, lynching, buck breaking, burnings, boiling’s etc.) and toxic stress that Black people endured during the MAAFA (Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade); have created deep wounds that have been passed down intergenerationally and are epi-genetic. The wounds of oppression have never been formally healed; and form the foundation of the compromised mental and physical health of African people in the 21stcentury. The open wounds of white supremacy and domination are further exacerbated by a formal government sponsored system of education (K-College), healing (Medicine, Psychology) and religion (Christianity) that promotes a European worldview and European cultural assimilation. White supremacy and domination is the root cause for mental illness, addictions, and health problems such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, poverty, and broken families amongst people of African descent. Black people in America face the harsh reality of white supremacy daily and are unaware, and ill-equipped to deal with its complexity and power. In order to promote a system of healing that validates the African personality in America, all vestiges of European cultural assimilation and healing sciences ( European Psychology/Psychiatry, DSM-V) must be purged from the African consciousness. A formalized process of re-Africanization that includes the history, worldview, and formalized African technologies of the Abosom, Loa, Orisha, Egungun, Nananom Nsamanfo must be adopted for the survival and continuation of the Black race. The intellectual content for this renaissance of Black consciousness must include the works of our great African thinkers Chancellor Williams, and Cheick Anta Diop, and our prolific African Psychologist and Psychiatrist Bobby Wright, Neely Fuller, Frances Cress Welsing, Amos Wilson, Asa Hilliard, Kobi Kambon, Patricia Newton, Wade Nobles, Marimba Ani, and Naim Akbar. The solutions that we need to advance our people can only be fostered by being grounded in traditional African culture; which is ancient and the precursor to world history. The ancestors have never left us and are counting on us to hear the call of war, remembrance, and restoration. What was lost in the fire shall be found in the ashes. Harambee!!!!!!
